Columbia Police

Feb. 4 – Cory W. Sturdevant, 30, of East Carondelet, was arrested on a Monroe County warrant and for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident on Old State Route 3 at Columbia Lakes Road.

Feb. 8 – Tyler J. Kipping, 22, of Red Bud, was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol on Admiral Parkway at Southwoods Drive.

Jose I. Pena-Hernandez, 22, of Chester, was arrested for possession of cannabis, driving while suspended, failure to signal, no insurance and improper lane usage on Route 158 at Todd Hall Center Drive.

Illinois State Police

Jan. 5 – Millstadt fire and EMS responded shortly after 5:30 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash involving a grain truck and pickup truck on Route 163 near the bridge at Prairie du Pont Creek north of Millstadt.

A grain truck hauling corn driven by Leon Kreher, 60, of New Athens, was traveling north on 163 when it collided with a Ford F-250 driven by Cecelia Dunlap, 60, of St. Louis, which was pulling out of Spring Haven Stables. Dunlap was extricated from her vehicle by firefighters and transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis for treatment of serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening. She was cited for failure to yield and no insurance. The grain truck was knocked on its side from the force of the collision and firefighters assisted in containing a small diesel fuel spill.

Monroe County Sheriff

Feb. 1 – A single-vehicle crash occurred on Route 156 about six-tenths of a mile east of Oexner Lane at about 3:40 p.m. A 2008 Hyundai Elantra driven by Jessica E. Hubbs, 27, of Columbia, was traveling eastbound on 156 and lost control, striking a road sign and spinning backwards before striking a tree with its rear. No injuries were reported.

Feb. 2 – Steven Moss, 18, of Waterloo, was cited for unlawful possession of alcohol on the Salt Lick Trail.

Feb. 7 – The Columbia Fire Department responded at about 12:35 p.m. to a fire reported just north of Bottom Road at the west side of the railroad tracks on the railroad right of way. Firefighters had the fire under control and were extinguishing hot spots by 1:30 p.m. Jamie Fitzgerald of Hecker was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

Waterloo Police

Feb. 2 – Cory Becker, 35, of Waterloo, was arrested on a Monroe County failure to appear warrant.

Feb. 3 – William Toenjes, 38, of Waterloo was arrested on multiple warrants.

Feb. 6 – Amber Smith, 31, of Waterloo, turned herself in on a Monroe County warrant.

Joseph Mallery, 40, of Belleville, was arrested for obstructing identification, driving while license suspended, no insurance and speeding.
