R-T’s ‘Best of 2014’ award winners announced

Results of the Republic-TimesBest of 2014” contest are in, with winners chosen by voters on our website over the past two weeks.

A whopping 34,134 votes were cast for nominees in 23 different categories.

There were some repeat winners from last year’s first-ever R-T “Best of” contest, and there were also some first-time award recipients.

The two categories garnering the most attention with online voters were “Best Auto Repair Shop” (4,252 total votes) and “Best Winery, Wine Shop or Micro-Brewery” (2,204 total votes).

In a couple of the categories, the margin of victory for winners was just a handful of votes. Auto Masters barely edged past T&M Automotive in the “Best Auto Repair Shop” category; Bully’s Smokehouse beat out JV’s Downtown Bar & Grill by two votes to win the “Best BBQ or Wings” category.
