Doris J. Jacobs | Obituary
Doris J. Jacobs, 83, of Littleton, Colo., died Jan. 22, 2015 in Colorado.
Doris spent 17 years as a credit investigator for Sears Roebuck and Company in East St. Louis.
After moving to Waterloo, she became a librarian for the Morrison-Talbott Library for eight years. She finished her career with Weight Watchers as clerk and treasurer.
Doris was a devoted homemaker, always taking care of family and friends. In addition, she was a Chicago Cubs fan, loved to take senior gambling trips and passionately pursued her family genealogy.
Doris and her husband, Bill, were residents of Waterloo for 36 years, prior to moving to Colorado to be close to their daughter and her family. They considered Waterloo “home.” Home is where Doris and Bill entertained family and friends at their backyard barbecues and made lifelong friends of their neighbors, the Bransons and Bakers.
Surviving are her daughter and husband, Linda Marie Jacobs and Rick Sublette, of Littleton, Colo.; her niece and husband, Nancy Ann and Jerry Wilson of Freeburg; her niece and husband, Pamela Sue and Rick Gulla of The Villages, Fla., her nephew and wife, William Charles and Julie Roberts of O’ Fallon; her nephew, Douglas Earnest Roberts of Chicago; her niece and husband, Tina Marie and Brad McGehee of Sycamore; plus grandchildren Kristen and Robert Sublette of Littleton, Colo. and Kayla and Brendon McGehee of Sycamore.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William A. Jacobs; her mother, Tessie Patterson; father Fred Roberts; stepfather Joseph Lovranits; and brothers Joseph and Jack Roberts.
Visitation will take place at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 30 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary in Centennial, Colo.
Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 30 at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colo.
