The Republic-Times Team of the Week is the Waterloo High School girls basketball team, which defeated Red Bud and Cahokia this week in the Candy Cane Classic at Gibault to advance to Saturday’s championship game.

Kat Finnerty scored 24 points and Mia Reed added 14 points for the Bulldogs in Wednesday’s win over Cahokia. As a team, Waterloo (4-5) made 27 of 43 free throw attempts.

Waterloo will play the winner of Columbia vs.Windsor, which takes place Thursday night.
