Kenneth Thomas Settle | Obituary

Kenneth Thomas Settle, 56, of Columbia, died Dec. 15, 2014 in Fenton.

He was born Sept. 3, 1958 in East St. Louis, son of Virginia “Jean” Settle and the late Herbert Settle.

Kenny was employed by Linnemann Lawn Care in Columbia. He was owner of Prairie State Irrigation and previously employed by Green Turf in St. Louis, Mo.

He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, a parishioner of Immaculate Conception parish in Columbia and a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, Susan (Susie) Settle, nee Kish; his daughters, Nicole, Rebecca, and Lucy Settle; granddaughter Lilith Pearl Settle at home; his mother Virginia “Jean” Settle of Columbia; a sister, Lynn (Nate) Soffio; a brother David Settle; a sister, Deborrah (Brant) Plancon; his in-laws; Gerald Kish, Dennis (Nancy) Kish, Michael (Jeanne) Kish, Thomas Kish, Steve (Debbie) Kish, Patrick Kish, Albert (Patresa) Kish Jr., Mary (John) Olsson, Maggie (James) Burns, Joanne Stahlmann. He was a dear nephew, beloved “Uncle Kenny” to 25 nieces and nephews and 19 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and his father-in-law, Albert Kish Sr., sister-in-law, Rumay (Vogt) Kish, brother-in-law, Steve Stahlmann.

Kenny is being cremated. A celebration of life is being planned for a future date; details to be announced.
