Two-vehicle injury crash south of Waterloo early Sunday

Police, fire and EMS personnel responded shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Route 3 right in front of the Wm. Nobbe John Deere dealership south of Waterloo.

A Dodge crossover and Toyota Camry were the two vehicles involved.

The male driver of the Camry was taken by Monroe County EMS ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the Dodge reported minor injuries.

The Waterloo Fire Department performed extrication at the scene. Also responding to the crash were the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, Waterloo Police Department and Illinois State Police.

“It was a head-on, but could’ve been much worse,” Waterloo Assistant Fire Chief Brett Wiegand said.
