G. Arthur Ziebold, 96, of Red Bud, died Sept. 12, 2014 in Red Bud.

He was born Aug. 9, 1918 in Red Bud, son of the late Gottlieb and Alma Ziebold, nee Homringhausen.

He married Ruby Stenzel, nee Haynes, on April 1, 1954 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Red Bud; she survives.

He had been an insurance agent for Ackermann Agency and Real Estate Broker for Ziebold Realty in Red Bud for more than 30 years.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Church of Christ and St. Peter Brotherhood in Red Bud, a charter member of the V.F.W. Post #6632 in Red Bud and was a past commander; a charter member of the American Legion Post #487 in Prairie du Rocher; Masonic Lodge #427 in Red Bud; Eastern Star manager of the Drum & Bugle Corps in Red Bud. He was one of the founding contributors of the Belleville Area College – Red Bud Campus and contributor to the Red Bud City Museum. He was one of the founders of the North County Country Club. He was also a member of the Randolph County Housing Authority. He was a WWII Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Ziebold; three children, Wendy (Mark) Luttman, Rick (Diane) Stenzel and Claudia (Marvin) Brinkley; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Alexandra) Luttman, Amanda (Mathew) Lucash, Quent (Amber) Stenzel, Cole Stenzel, Chris Stenzel and fiancée Jessica Orsa, Keely (Michael) Giles, Derek (Eileen) Hummert; 12 great-grandchildren Aaron, Owen and Amelia Luttman, Ruby Lucash, Brodie and Tessa Stenzel, Daniel, Delany, Kayta and Karregan Giles, David and Tristan Hummert; along wiht many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Nelda (Henry) Grosse and Alberta (Reginald) Guker, sister-in-law Pearl (Norman) Hartmann and brother-in-law Charles Haynes.

Visitation took place Sept. 15 at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud and Sept. 16 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Red Bud.

A funeral service took place Sept. 16 at the church.

Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church, Shriner’s Hospital or the Alzheimer Association.
