Columbia Police

July 21: David C. Calvert, 57, of Belleville, was arrested for DUI, speeding and failure to use turn signal on Route 158 at Campbell Lane.

July 22: Heather J. Sharp, 40, of Columbia, was arrested on a fugitive from justice out-of-state warrant at 237 Veterans Parkway.

July 24: Joseph K. Hall, 29, of Columbia, was arrested for domestic battery at 823 W. Bottom Avenue.

Monroe County Sheriff

July 18: A two-vehicle crash on Steppig Road just west of Bluff Road resulted in minor injury. A 2001 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven Jesse D. Forrester, 50, of Valmeyer, was rounding a curve on Steppig and was unable to avoid colliding with a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Linda L. Asher, 54, of Fenton, Mo. Asher was transported by Columbia EMS to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis.

July 22: Joshua Weygandt, 26, of Waterloo, was arrested on Kern Road for aggravated DUI, driving while license revoked and resisting arrest following reports of reckless driving south of Waterloo.

July 23: A report of deceptive practice is under investigation after four bad checks were reported at a business on Route 3. A report of identity theft involving a faulty online tax filing is under investigation.

July 26: A vehicle rollover occurred around noon on LL Road just west of L Road near Red Bud. Traci R. Rensing, 41, of Carlyle, lost control of her 2004 Ford Explorer on loose gravel, resulting in it rolling over into a ditch. Rensing was transported by Monroe County EMS to Red Bud Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. A 4-year-old passenger inside the vehicle was not injured.

The report of a box truck stolen early Saturday morning from UScrap at 8814 Summer Road is under investigation. The truck was recovered the next day in Waterloo. Police said the front south window of the business was broken out and keys to the vehicle
were taken. The suspect first tried to steal a motorcycle on the property, but it stalled not far away. The box truck was then stolen. An Illinois State Police crime scene technician was dispatched to assist in the investigation.

A report from a resident on Kaskaskia Road of unlawful use of debit card is under investigation.

July 27: The theft of a double trailer hauling two Sea-Doo wave runners from a property in the area of 3900 State Route 3 is under investigation.

Chad Crank of Columbia was arrested on a Monroe County warrant.

Waterloo Police

July 21: Cody McManus, 20, of Millstadt, was cited for unlawful possession of alcohol at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.

July 24: Two juveniles were arrested for retail theft at Walmart.

July 25: Samuel Diveley, 21, of Cahokia, was issued a city ordinance violation for public fighting at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.

July 26: Quinten Goforth, 19, of Columbia, was arrested for possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of alcohol and improper lane usage in the Walmart parking lot.

Benjamin DeMoulin, 19, of Columbia, was cited for unlawful consumption of alcohol at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.

July 28: David Hardy, 22, of Cahokia, was arrested for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia on North Library Street at Koenigsmark Avenue.
