Theodore R. Hartman, 91, of Smithton, died April 2, 2014 in Waterloo.

He was born Feb. 21, 1923 in Germany, son of the late Theodore Sr. and Frieda Hartman.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a member of the American Legion and Forty & Eight.

He is survived by wife Agnes Hartman (nee Hegger); children Ron (Pat) Hartman and Linda Rae (Elmer) Bowman; step-children Suzanne (Kevin) Sweet, Gregory (Diane) Narez, David (Phyllis) Narez and Russel Narez (Sissy); along with numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard Hartman and step-son Randall Narez.

Visitation took place April 7 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo.

A memorial service took place April 6 at Oak Hill in Waterloo.

Interment followed at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
