Tara Ries and Ryan Hagenow of St. Louis have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Larry and Jane Ries of Ottsville, Penn., and the granddaughter of Barbara Strouse of Lambertville, NJ. She obtained her bachelor of science in human resources management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is employed with Center Oil Company in St. Louis.

The groom-to-be is the son of Ron and Mary Ann Hagenow of Waterloo and the grandson of Mrs. Matt Steckler of Belleville and Mrs. Richard Hagenow of Manteno. He obtained his bachelor of science in business administration from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. He is employed at Enterprise Fleet Management in St. Louis.

A May 9, 2014 wedding in Playa del Carmen in Mexico is planned.
