Barbara Barnes Vandever | Obituary

Barbara Barnes Vandever (nee McFarland), 83, of St. Louis, died March 7, 2014 in St. Louis.

She was born Feb. 3, 1931 in New York City, N.Y., to the late James and Lillian McFarland. She was a retired cook for the Senior Center in Waterloo.

Survivors are her beloved children Diane (Jerry) Sherrod of St. Louis, Robert (Debbie) Barnes of Waterloo, James Barnes of Waterloo, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband Robert John Barnes; second husband John Vandever; daughter Linda Crowe; son Kevin A. Barnes; grandson Kevin J. Jacobs; and sister Lillian Rappa.

A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. March 15 at Victory Full Gospel Church, Waterloo. A luncheon at the church will follow. Small donations may be made out to the church.
