Three bowlers each from Columbia and Waterloo high schools have been selected to participate in an exclusive area high school bowling event to be held next month in Cahokia.

The Metro-East Men’s 700 Club is hosting a High School Super Bowl on Sunday, March 9, at Redbird Lanes in Cahokia.

This event features the top 24 area boys and girls bowlers based on per game average.

Those chosen to participate from Columbia are boys bowler Cameron Touchette and girls bowlers Miranda Rodenhofer and Peyton Schmidt.

Touchette carried a 218 average this winter; Rodenhofer carried a 186 average and Schmidt carried a 185 average.

For Waterloo, boys bowlers Hayden Bode and Michael McGarry have been chosen to participate, as has girls bowler Gabbie Hoge.

These bowlers will compete for scholarship money from the 700 Club during the March 9 event.

Both schools had successful boys and girls bowling seasons this winter. Columbia sent two boys to sectionals, while the Columbia girls advanced to sectionals as a team.

The Waterloo boys won their conference yet again, and the girls team finished the regular season undefeated while also advancing to sectionals.
