Columbia Police

Jan. 15 – Matthew J. Whelan, 30, of St. Louis, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone) at 221 Towerhill Drive.

Dennis Hagopian, 33, of East Carondelet, was arrested on an in-state warrant and also for driving while suspended, no insurance and failure to signal on Walnut at N. Main Street.

Jan. 19 – Pamela M. Cullen, 48, of Columbia, was arrested for DUI at 200 Columbia Centre.

Jan. 20 – Dennis Cooley, 34, of Columbia, was arrested for domestic battery.

Monroe County Sheriff

Jan. 13 – The theft of two medium-sized chainsaws, one large chainsaw and a hedge trimmer from a shed in the area of 5000 Kaskaskia Road is under investigation. The theft is believed to have occurred between Jan. 4 and Jan. 13.

Jan. 16 – Scott Vogt, 52, of Fults, was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage on Route 3 in Waterloo.

Jan. 17 – Richard I. Jones, 21, of Swansea, was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage on Route 3 at Library Street in Waterloo.

Jan. 19 – Timothy Ervin, 47, of Columbia, has been charged with felony aggravated assault following an incident at 1572 Hilltop Road in which he allegedly pointed a knife in the direction of another person.

Randolph County Sheriff

Jan. 21 – Deputies assisted Prairie du Rocher first responders in handling an incident in which a 34-year-old male complained of a foot injury stemming from a domestic disturbance on Middle Street around 11:30 a.m.

Waterloo Police

Jan. 21 – A report of retail theft at Walmart is under investigation.
