Waterloo High School wrestler Pat Bieber is this week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week.
Bieber was selected as the Outstanding Wrestler by coaches during the Quincy Tournament last weekend. This honor is voted on by all 25 coaches in the tourney. Bieber placed first in Quincy, notching more than 20 wins on the season.
The senior, who went to state last year representing WHS, helped the Bulldogs notch their first finish in the top 20 of the tournament since they began wrestling in it in 2009. Waterloo finished well above that mark at 10th.
