Waterloo man’s death under investigation

The death of a 44-year-old Waterloo man is under investigation after a roommate found him unresponsive inside their residence around 12:40 p.m. Saturday.

Monroe County Chief Deputy Coroner Bob Hill pronounced Everett Thomas Harper, 44, deceased a short time later. Harper resided at 307 West Third Street (rear) in Waterloo.

Waterloo police called in a crime scene technician from the Illinois State Police to help them investigate the cause of death in this case.

“An autopsy and toxicology tests will be performed before releasing any additional information,” the coroner’s office stated in a news release.

Toxicology results typically take six to eight weeks to be made known, on average.
