Columbia Police

Dec. 10
Columbia police, fire and EMS responded along with Illinois State Police to a rear-end collision between two vans on Interstate 255 eastbound at the exit ramp to southbound Route 3 shortly after 5 p.m. Traffic was backed up at the exit as a result. There was no word on the extent of any possible injuries.

Marcus A. Watson, 24, of Columbia, was arrested for domestic battery and an in-state warrant at 281E Veterans Parkway.

Dec. 13
Christopher A. McGuire, homeless, was arrested for violating the sex offender act.

Dec. 14
Aaron D. Lich, 34, of Waterloo, was arrested on an in-state warrant at Midwest Petroleum, 1553 N. Main Street.

Monroe County Sheriff

Dec. 11
Orville Young of Cotton Plant, Ark., was arrested on a Monroe County warrant.

Dec. 13
No injuries were reported after a 1997 Ford Explorer driven by Jeremiah D. Hayes of Red Bud lost control on an ice-covered road, went off the roadway, struck a culvert and flipped over into a pond along BB Road just north of Bixby Road near East Carondelet around 10 p.m. A female passenger was also uninjured.

Dec. 6
Dustin Qualls, 24, of Waterloo, was arrested for DUI following a minor accident in the Walmart parking lot in which his vehicle struck a pole.

Dec. 10
Justin Hatch, 37, of Columbia, was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol on Route 3 at Halifax Drive.

Dec. 11
Robert Wagner, 26, of Renault, was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage and no valid drivers license on Front Street at Legion Drive.

Dec. 15
Jordan Graves, 19, of Waterloo, was cited for unlawful consumption of alcohol at 1604 Lakeview Drive.
