Threatening note found at Red Bud Elementary

Red Bud Elementary School faced a difficult situation on Friday when administrators found a threatening note in a young student’s locker.

Multiple St. Louis media outlets have referred to the note as a “hit list” or “kill list,” saying the note listed several students under that name.

The North County News reported that the school took immediate action by calling the Red Bud Police Department but found no immediate threat of danger or harm to students.

The specifics of the note, which was found inside a locker, have not been released.

According to a letter sent out to parents of students in the district, Superintendent Jonathan Tallman said the student in question was removed from the school premises, and police will continue to investigate the case.

Since the student is a minor, his/her name has not been released.

According to a North County News article, no weapons were found at the school.

“The safety and welfare of our students, faculty and staff is a priority,” Tallman is quoted as saying.
