Hershel L. Sharp | Obituary

Hershel L. Sharp, 78, of Red Bud, died Dec. 4, 2013, in Waterloo.

He was born Sept. 3, 1935, in Winslow, Ind., to the late Edward and Odyne (nee Simmons) Sharp.

He was married to Emma Brewster; she preceded him in death.

Mr. Sharp had been an auto painter for the Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, Mo. for 38 years.

He was of the Baptist faith, was a member of the UAW and was a Korean Conflict Army veteran.

Survivors include daughter Tracy Sharp; grandson Alex (Jessica) Schmidt; sister Sharon (Doyal) Schultz; brothers Gary (Pam) Sharp and Jamie (Melinda) Sharp; sisters-in-law Joann Brewster and Joann Radcliff, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Along with his wife and parents, Sharp was preceded in death by three brothers: Bud, Tony and Charles Sharp; sister Marjorie Laswell; sister-in-law Betty Snow and brother-in-law Charles Brewster.

Visitation was Dec. 9-10 at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud and Curtis Funeral Home in Winslow, Ind.

A funeral service took place Dec. 10 at Curtis Funeral Home in Winslow, Ind.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
