Gas line struck in Valmeyer

The Valmeyer Fire Department and Monroe County EMS responded along with police to the 100 block of East Woodland Ridge shortly after 10:45 a.m. Wednesday after workers from Harrisonville Telephone Company struck a gas line while digging.

Residences in that immediate area were evacuated as a precaution.

The fire department cleared the scene about 20 minutes after the initial page out.
