Meth lab raid in East Carondelet

Two suspects are in custody following a meth lab raid in East Carondelet.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department said its Drug Tactical Unit executed a search warrant at 910 Illinois Avenue with assistance from the Illinois State Police Meth Team and other agencies.

Multiple meth labs were discovered on the property, police said.

According to police, the raid was conducted around 7:15 a.m. on Thursday. Last month, the Drug Tactical Unit received information that methamphetamines were being manufactured and sold at that address, police explained. DTU Investigators were able to obtain evidence to verify this information.

Evidence of meth manufacturing and chemicals were located on the property, including five active “shake and bake” meth cooks.

On Friday, St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly’s Office charged Norman D. McMillan, 50, with aggravated participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, unlawful possession of methamphetamines, and unlawful possession of firearm ammunition by a felon. McMillan’s bond was set at $900,000.

Also charged was Roxanne Cole, 31, with unlawful possession of methamphetamines. Bond for Cole was set at $100,000.
