Smith runs at state

Waterloo High School freshman Luke Smith competed in the IHSA Class 2A state boys cross country meet Saturday in Peoria, posting a finish time slightly above 16 minutes in mud and slop. He placed 148th overall with a time of 16:06.70 for the three-mile run at Detweiller Park.
