Dupo football falls in opener

Dupo football players celebrate a touchdown during Friday’s home game against Bayless. 

The Dupo High School football team hosted Bayless to open the 2024 season on Friday night, falling 44-12.

Bayless rushed for 358 total yards in the game and forced three Tigers turnovers en route to victory. 

Dupo quarterback Deegan Prater was 16-for-29 passing with 194 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed for 54 yards, which led the team.

Prater’s favorite target through the air on this night was Thinh Staggs, who caught 11 passes for 154 yards and two TDs.

Up next for Dupo is a road contest this Friday night at Principia in St. Louis.
