Schmitz, Toenjes big winners of fair demo derby

With a car seemingly built like a tank, Chad Schmitz of Valmeyer was the big winner of Friday’s Auto Demolition Derby at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.

He took the final feature, outlasting second place winner and longtime derby participant Vince Allscheid.

In the stock class of Friday’s demo derby, John Toenjes took first place, followed by Ryan Gummersheimer in second place and Mike Seymour in third.

In the mini car class, Jeremy Roberts won first place, Aaron Cheek took second and Tony Brellinger won third place.
