Columbia Police

Aug. 14

Emergency personnel responded at about 2:20 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash on the ramp from Palmer Road to southbound Route 3. Injuries were believed to be minor in nature. The vehicles, which both came to rest on the shoulder, were a blue sedan and a pickup truck pulling a work trailer.

Aug. 15

Matthew J. Williams, 37, of O’Fallon, Mo., was arrested on an in-state warrant on North Metter Avenue at Rueck Road.

Aug. 16

Police are investigating after at least two unlocked vehicles were unlawfully entered. Police received a call about two suspicious individuals walking around the Columbia Lakes subdivision at about 3:30 a.m. With assistance from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, officers searched the area for over an hour but did not locate the individuals or observe any suspicious vehicles. So far, a wallet from an unlocked truck was the only item reported stolen. Bank cards from the stolen wallet were used in north St. Louis city a short time after the theft was believed to have occurred. Similar incidents occurred July 29 in a different area of Columbia, with one unlocked vehicle stolen.

Aug. 18

Matthew J. Lane, 35, of East Alton, was arrested for felony violation of an order of protection and also for domestic battery at 12 Meadow Ridge East.

Aug. 19

Police assisted the Columbia Fire Department in responding at 9:30 a.m. to a fully involved dumpster fire near a residence in the 1000 block of Bradington Court. Flames from the dumpster were melting some siding on the residence upon firefighter arrival. Fire personnel cleared the scene by 9:50 a.m.

Millstadt Police

Aug. 13

Shortly after 6 p.m., police were called for a solicitor complaint on M&O Station Road. The subjects, Khamron M. Williams, 28 of Urbana, Ieasha K. Washington, 36 of Urbana, and Christopher J. Benton, 23 of Belleville, who were soliciting without a village permit, were located and cited. 

Aug. 18

At 7:40 p.m., Joanna M. Clark, 56, of Belleville, was arrested on a St. Clair County traffic warrant and charged with operation of vehicle when registration suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle and expired registration in the first block of East Washington Street.

Aug. 19

Shortly before 5 p.m., police received a complaint of subjects soliciting without a permit in the Alpine Trails Subdivision. Police located the subjects, one of which had previously been warned not to solicit. The following were charged under local ordinance for soliciting without a permit:  Michael M. Linardi, 46, of Orlando, Fla., and Miguel A. Troche, 22, of Frisco, Texas.

Missouri Highway Patrol

Aug. 15

A two-vehicle crash occurred shortly after 12:20 p.m. on I-55 southbound at mile marker 199 in St. Louis County. The vehicles involved were a 2019 RAM 1500 driven by Jacob A. Huffman, 36, of New Athens, and a 2011 Mazda CX-7 driven by Jason A. Brunner, 43, of Robertsville, Mo. Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County, as was a 34-year-old male passenger in the Mazda, for treatment of injuries classified as moderate.   

Monroe County Sheriff

Aug. 1

Tara K.L. McCraw, 39, of St. Louis, was arrested for felony driving while license revoked/suspended.

Aug. 17

Steven D. Parker, 50, of Lees Summit, Mo., was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). 

Waterloo Police

Aug. 15

Three were arrested following a theft from Rural King, 740 N. Market Street. Shortly before 5:20 p.m., a chainsaw and other power tools were taken from the store. An Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network alert was issued after the suspect vehicle, a black Chevy Silverado, had fled the Rural King parking lot prior to police arrival. The vehicle was eventually stopped by Sparta police, and the suspects were taken into custody.  Stephan P. Makowan, 44, of Christopher, Linda N. Fulford, 47, of Buckner, and Bryan F. Parks, 43, of Joliet, were all charged with felony retail theft.
