Columbia Police

June 28

Aiden J. Pollworth, 22, of Waterloo, was charged with theft in excess of $500. Court records allege that between Nov. 23, 2023, and May 24, Pollworth stole Apple Airpods, an XBox1S video game console, a hammer, a hammer drill and a Makita circular saw from a Columbia couple.   

July 4

Seth A. Hubbard, 47, of Columbia, was charged with illegal use of fireworks at 10:11 p.m. in the 1400 block of Evergreen Lane.

July 9

A road rage incident started in Columbia and ended in Waterloo. The incident began on Route 3 at South Main Street in Columbia and resulted in a traffic stop on North Moore Street at Station Crossing off Route 3 in Waterloo. A Columbia police officer went to the area where the vehicles were stopped by Waterloo police, but neither of the two male drivers wished to file charges. One of the drivers did grab a hatchet from inside his vehicle for protection, police said, but it was not used during the incident.

July 15

Travis E. Stipes, 32, of Waterloo, was charged with DUI (intoxicating compound) at 12:30 p.m. on Route 3 at Palmer Drive. Stipes was also charged with improper lane usage

Monroe County Sheriff

June 27

Bethany D. Osterhage, 40, of Waterloo was arrested in the 2900 block of DB Road on a Monroe County warrant and for no insurance.

July 10

Shawn R. Murphey, 41, of Wood River, was charged with escape/violating terms of electronic monitoring for allegedly cutting off a mounted electronic monitoring device in order to escape prosecution on April 1.

July 11

A motorcycle crash occurred about 10 p.m. on Route 156 at Deer Hill Road. Camden M. Hurst, 27, of Waterloo, was driving a 2013 HD Dyna Super Glide Motorcycle on State Route 156 just east of Deer Hill Road when a deer entered the roadway. The motorcycle struck the deer, leaving disabling damage to the entire motorcycle. Hurst was transported to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County for treatment of unspecified injuries.

July 12

Paige N. Kramer, 29, of Red Bud, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl).

July 13

Amanda A. Droeger, 46, of O’Fallon, was arrested for obstructing identification, driving while license suspended and no registration on Route 3 at Hanover Road. 

Waterloo Police

July 4

Eric D. Hermann, 31, of Waterloo, was charged with aggravated domestic battery and unlawful restraint for allegedly strangling a female victim and then unlawfully detaining her and destroying her cell phone.

July 12

Aiden J. Pollworth, 22, of Waterloo, was charged with criminal damage to property in the 400 block of West Fourth Street.

Stephen M. Gulley, 38, of Waterloo, was charged with criminal damage to property for allegedly damaging two doors of a residence in the 500 block of South Main Street.
