A large tree split and fell on a power line late Friday morning, resulting in a brief power outage for many Waterloo residents.

The tree fell behind a home in the 600 block of Mark Drive, resulting in an outage about 11 a.m. Friday. Much of Waterloo had power restored within about 10 minutes, with other residents in the southern portion of the city out longer.
