Janet Osterhage | Obituary

Janet  Osterhage (nee McClain), 79, of Jefferson City, Mo., died April 22, 2024, in Jefferson City. She was born Dec. 27, 1944, in Dupo.

Janet loved sewing, outdoor gardening, cooking and playing marbles and cards with her grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mother and her primary focus was taking care of her family.

She is survived by her children David (Beth) Osterhage, Dana (Jon) Moore, Kimberly O’Hara, Kevin (Suzie) Osterhage, Christine Brauner and Carla Luebbert (fiance Mark Mueller); grandchildren Cayla (Andrew) Clarkson, Sullavan, Brittney (Ryan) Walters, Amanda (Kevin) Schwartze, Danielle (Kevin) Douglas, Gabrielle, Lexi (Jake) Vanover, Wyatt (fiancée Kellie), Olivia, Savana and Ethan; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband Gordon W. Osterhage; son-in-law Pat Brauner; parents Arthur Fred  and Olga  (nee Asselmeier) McClain; sisters Flora Keim, Patricia Carroll, Fern Chlibec and Joyce Ernst; brothers James R. McClain, Lloyd W. McClain and Charles H. McClain.

Visitation is 9 a.m. until time of service April 25 at Zoar United Church of Christ in New Hanover.

A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor David Poe officiating.

Interment will be at New Hanover Cemetery of Zoar in New Hanover.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to the family.
