John S. Petraitis, 68, of Cahokia, formerly of East St. Louis, died June 25, 2013, in Cahokia.

He was born July 26, 1944, in East St. Louis, son of the late Stanley J. and Julia Petraitis (nee Welch).

Mr. Petraitis worked as an associate at Walmart in Waterloo. He previously served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his brothers and sisters Rose Marie (Tom) Billen, James (Karen) Petraitis, Robert Petraitis, Thom Petraitis, David Petraitis and Dennis Petraitis; and nieces and nephews Brian Petraitis, Robert Petraitis, Stacy (Tom) Bradley and Michael (Rachel) Petraitis.

Visitation and funeral services were June 29, at Kassly Mortuary and Chapel in Fairview Heights, Father Matthew Elie officiating.

Interment followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville.

Memorials may be made in the form of Masses at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, East St. Louis.
