The Illinois State Police is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on I-255 southbound near Cahokia Heights.

The crash occurred about 5:35 a.m. The interstate was closed from milepost 13 to milepost 10 in St. Clair County, with traffic detoured off I-255 to Route 157 and Route 3. The roadway was reopened to traffic shortly before 9:15 a.m.

The person who died in the crash was identified by the St. Clair County coroner’s office as Charmane Gallant, 69, of O’Fallon.
