Columbia urgent care closing

Gateway Urgent Care, located at 11 South in Columbia, announced Friday it is closing permanently at the end of business on Dec. 17.

“Although our urgent care services will no longer be available, we encourage you to seek medical attention from alternative providers in the area,” American Healthcare Systems CEO Mike Sarian stated in a news release.

Opening in January 2017 as part of the completion of the new five-floor 11 South complex at the northern end of Columbia, Gateway Urgent Care has occupied 4,400 square feet at the bottom level of the building.

The urgent care operation has six exam rooms and one procedure room, also offering an x-ray and lab facility, sports/work physicals and drug screen testing.
