Friday injury crash in Waterloo

Emergency personnel responded about 2:30 p.m. Friday to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in the 700 block of North Market Street just north of Kolmer Avenue near the entrance to Rural King in Waterloo.

Responding agencies included the Waterloo police and fire departments and Monroe County EMS.

Police said a black 2008 Ford Edge driven by Joshua P. Larabell, 40, of Waterloo, was traveling south on Market Street when the vehicle crossed into the northbound lane possibly due to a medical issue. This resulted in a collision with a light blue 2009 Hyundai Elantra driven by Patricia A. Lewis, 78, of Maeystown, which was traveling north on Market Street.

Both drivers were transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
