The Waterloo police and fire departments responded shortly after 3:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a dumpster on fire in the 100 block of Gardner Street.

The dumpster was next to a large metal shed.

WPD officers arrived first on the scene and used a garden hose to begin extinguishing the blaze. WFD crews arrived shortly thereafter and the fire was out within five minutes.

The owner of the shed said he did not know what caused the fire.
