The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Valmeyer High School softball player Brooke Miller. The junior pitcher is 8-1 with a 1.72 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 61 innings so far this spring. At the plate, she leads the Pirates (14-2) in batting average at .500 to go along with six triples, two home runs, 15 runs and 15 RBIs.
