Columbia Police
March 5
Arec M. Boren, 21, and Zachary Walsh, 19, both of Columbia, were charged with theft of lost or mislaid property (golf clubs) at 303 N. Briegel Street.
Illinois State Police
March 22
Mark Wegmann, 27, of Columbia, was airlifted to Saint Louis University Hospital after his 2013 Dodge Ram pickup lost control on a curve near the Columbia exit on I-255 southbound around 4:20 a.m. The truck was resting on its side upon emergency responder arrival. Columbia Fire Department personnel had to cut the roof from the truck to extract the driver. Wegmann’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Monroe County Sheriff
March 19
Bill Tillman of Columbia was transported from St. Clair County and arrested on a Monroe County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic syringe.
A domestic dispute on Spring Lake Drive is under investigation.
March 24
Victoria Voss of Waterloo turned herself in on a warrant for failure to appear on a city ordinance violation (dogs at large).
Liam W. Koesterer, 18, Collin A. Buresh, 18, and Eric P. Read, 18, all of Columbia, were cited for unlawful consumption of alcohol at 16 Chesapeake Trail.
Waterloo Police
March 21
James L. Piker, 45, of Caseyville, was charged with felony burglary and felony retail theft following a Feb. 4 incident at Walmart. Piker is alleged to have entered the store with intent to commit a theft, stealing a TV and chainsaws with a total value exceeding $300.
March 22
Amy Terry, 29, of Millstadt, was arrested for retail theft (less than $300) at Walmart.
Brett Lenhardt, 21, of Waterloo, was arrested for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, and speeding on Route 3 at South Library Street.
March 24
No injuries were reported after a car driven by Jackson Jennings, 17, of Waterloo, knocked over a stop sign at Route 3 and Vandebrook Drive around 11 p.m.
