Columbia Police

March 11

Travis M. Cafolla, 34, of Columbia, was arrested on Monroe and St. Clair County warrants at Columbia High School.

March 12

Penny R. Bandy, 39, of Dupo, was arrested on Monroe and St. Clair County warrants, and for driving while suspended and no insurance on Admiral Parkway.

March 15

Clifton M. Ticer, 39, of Fenton, Mo., was arrested for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, no insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident involving his 2002 Dodge truck shortly before midnight on Admiral Parkway at Veterans Parkway. The truck struck a traffic control device and went off the roadway, causing the traffic lights to be without power for a short time.

March 16

Michael A. Reed, 28, of St. Louis, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant and for improper use of registration and no insurance on Route 3 at Hill Castle Road.

Illinois State Police

March 11

Laura A. Grueninger, 53, of Millstadt, was transported to Memorial Hospital in Belleville for minor injuries sustained when her 2011 Ford Focus went off the roadway and struck a street sign on Route 158 near Douglas Road during the evening.

March 16

Dupo police and fire responders assisted ISP with a crash that occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Old State Route 3 near Mule Road. A northbound 2004 Dodge Stratus driven by Jennilee Reeves, 19, of East Carondelet, lost control and struck a utility pole. She was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis for her injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

March 18

A 1999 Chevy Lumina driven by Julie Brigance, 46, of Waterloo, went off the roadway and struck a utility pole in the area of Route 156 about one-half mile east of Waterloo around 3:30 a.m. Brigance, was taken to Red Bud Regional Hospital for her injuries. She was cited for no insurance and improper lane usage.

Monroe County Sheriff

March 11

Kurt Blaes, 23, of Waterloo, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant on Route 3.

The report of a tire slashed on a vehicle at 5312 J Road is under investigation.

The report of a vehicle being keyed on Mallard Nest Lane is under investigation.

March 12

Ryan Schaefer was cited for failure to signal and illegal transportation of alcohol on Bluff Road. Also cited in the stop were Josh Reinhardt and Brock Durbin of Red Bud for illegal transportation of alcohol.

March 14

Timothy M. Joellenbeck of Waterloo was transported to Belleville Memorial Hospital for minor injuries sustained when his 1997 Volkswagon drove through the “T” intersection at Long Lake Road and Maeystown Road around 6:40 a.m., crashing into a field. Joellenbeck told police he was distracted by an animal.

March 5

Thomas J. Clark, 37, of Waterloo, was arrested for DUI, improper turn signal and license not on person.

March 16

James Hankammer, 59, of Waterloo, was arrested for domestic battery and interference with the reporting of domestic violence.

A 2001 Dodge driven by Alicia Pence, 25, of Waterloo, ran off the roadway into a ditch in the 800 block of Lakeview Drive around 7:15 p.m., throwing a large clump of dirt into and denting the side of Sgt. Dave Loless’ parked police car outside his residence. Pence was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to provide information following a crash.
