Forrest Dean Keim, 84, of Columbia, died Feb. 22, 2013, in Belleville.
He was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Henry County, son of the late Forrest E. and Helen Keim (nee LaRue).
He married Marian Keim (Menner) on May 14, 1955, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia; she survives.
Mr. Keim was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia; Knights of Columbus 4th Degree – Father Charles Hellrung Assembly 1529, Waterloo; Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree – George R. Kutterer Council 6165, Columbia; American Legion Post 581, Columbia; and Teamsters Local 600, St. Louis.
He served in the U.S. Army, 105th Transportation Port Company, and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Keim had retired from Yellow Freight Systems as a truck driver. He had more than 50 years of experience in commercial truck driving.
After retirement, he spent much of his time volunteering at Immaculate Conception Catholic School. He was a great St. Louis Cardinals and Gibault athletics fan.
In addition to his wife; survivors include his daughter Lori (Michael) Doerr of Columbia; grandchildren Cory (Deidra) Doerr of Waterloo, and Kyle (Danielle) Doerr of Freeburg; great-grandchildren Nicholas and Emilia Doerr; special family Peggy, Allen, Meghan and Dakota Schutt of Waterloo; and brother-in-law Harold Nobbe of Waterloo; along with other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Katherine (Leonard) Steining and Barbara Nobbe.
Visitation was Feb. 25, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 26, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, Father Bob Menner and Father Gary Hogan officiating.
Interment followed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Columbia.
