Small fire Monday at Waterloo Sonic

The Waterloo Fire Department responded around 2:10 p.m. Monday to the Sonic restaurant drive-thru in Waterloo.

Initial reports stated a small fire began in a mulch pile near the drive-thru ordering speaker, possibly the result of an unextinguished cigarette.

The fire was extinguished quickly.
