The Boy Scouts of America and various local food pantries need your help, and so do many hungry people in the community.

Local scouts are participating in the annual Scouting for Food drive this fall.

This past Saturday, scouts placed blue plastic bags at doorsteps throughout Monroe County.

This Saturday, Nov. 20, scouts will return to pick up the bags – hopefully filled with food.

Food donated in Monroe County will be distributed through local food pantries.

Residents are encouraged to place filled bags on doorsteps by 10 a.m.
