Russell Lee Row Sr.

Russell Lee Row Sr., 82, of Waterloo, died May 10, 2013, in Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 9, 1930, in St. Joseph, Mo., son of the late Orvis L. and Velda Mae Row (nee Dhone).

He married the late Patricia Ann Row (nee Dougherty); she preceded him in death.

Row enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Jan. 10, 1949, and served as a radarman on the USS Boxer CVA-21, for three years in Korea. He was awarded seven campaign ribbons, and upon his return, was a lifetime member of VFW Post 6504 in Waterloo.

He was employed for 43 years as a carpenter, estimator and construction superintendent for Century Construction in Kansas City, Mo., Architectural Association, Kozeny-Wagner Construction Company, H.H. Hall Construction Company, and Keeley Brother Contracting Company. He was a member of Carpenters Local 169, now Local 662.

Row attended Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Survivors include children Theresa Ann (George) Blase, Thomas Edward (Pam) Row, Russell Lee (Patricia) Row Jr., Daniel James (Debra) Row, Susan Marie Row (Rob Hyatt), Shawnn Rennee (Charles) Green, and Kristen Mary Row; grandchildren Blake Robert (Sarah) Blase, Anna Carlene Row, Sara Jo Withers, Riley (Marilyn) Withers, Kyle Russell (Clare) Row, Brett William Row, Nicholas Patrick Row, Dustin Leighton Row, Samuel Albert Row, Lucas Daniel (Kristy) Row, Shawnn Patrick Row, Jason Lee Rheinecker, Aaron Michael Rheinecker, Philip Lee Rheinecker, Daniel Patrick Green, Russell Leighton Green, Joseph Charles Green, Sean Luke Green, Olivia Kathleen Peifer, and Quinlin Jacob Peifer; great-grandchildren Emilin Drew Row, Adelaide Barnett Blase, Charlie Leighton Row, Eva Lyn Row, Jordan Withers, and Mya Withers; brother William (Gail) Row; sister-in-law Delores (nee Dougherty) Cysewski; and brothers-in-law Neil Johnson and Clifton Patrick Dougherty; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was May 12-13, at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

A funeral Mass was celebrated May 13, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Waterloo, Father Osang Idagbo C.M., officiating.

Interment followed at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo.

Memorials may be made to Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic School or Church, Hospice of Southern Illinois, or in the form of Masses for Pat and Russ Row.
